Learn tips, tricks, and guidelines for how to set yourself up for the best opportunity to receive scholarships through the College of Education, Sport, and Human Sciences.
Audience: Current students, graduate or undergraduate, who will continue attending WSU and CESHS in Fall 2026 and Spring 2027, who are majoring in any CESHS major OR are pursuing a secondary education certificate. Not relevant for students graduating at the end of Fall ’25, Spring ’26 or Summer ’26.

The R.H. & Jane Logan Scholarship
The Logan Scholarship is administrated by the College of Education, Sport, and Human Sciences.
Uses & Purposes of the Logan Scholarship:
The distributions from this fund shall be used to award the R.H. & Jane Logan Scholarship Fund each year to undergraduate and graduate students who plan to teach in the public school system, have a 3.0 or higher grade-point-average, and demonstrate financial need.
To meet these criteria, students must:
- Apply for the WSU Scholarship Application and indicate your intention to teach in public schools post-graduation.
- Be sure to answer “Yes” on the question “Do you plan to teach in the public school system (any grade, Pre-K through 12th grade)?”
- Have a 3.0 GPA or higher upon the completion of the current school year or entering your MIT program.
- Apply for the FAFSA/WASFA and have demonstrated financial need, indicated by the Student Aid Index.
Terms & Conditions:
Award amounts vary by individual students’ academic journey point. Each student’s journey points will be confirmed with advising staff prior to award notices going out.

Before 2025-2026 Academic Year
For students awarded the Logan Scholarship for the 2024-2025 school year or earlier, recipients will continue to receive the award for up to 4 years total, per their award letter from Student Financial Services, if they continue to meet the Logan criteria listed above. The amounts of the award will continue to match the awards laid out in Terms & Conditions established by Student Financial Services at the time of the initial award (i.e., First-year and sophomore level is $5,000 per year and junior, senior and graduate level is $8,000 per year). Recipients may also be eligible for an additional $5,000 for one semester while they are student teaching. Beginning 2025-2026 Academic Year
First time recipients of the Logan Scholarship beginning the 2025-2026 school year, must reapply annually for scholarships and meet the Logan criteria listed above. Funding is not automatically renewed.
