Student Teachers

We know you are excited to be a teacher, but scared or nervous at the same time. Fear not! It is not sink-or-swim at graduation. Through WSU, you will get plenty of in-the-classroom student teaching!

The undergraduate student teaching experience is a full semester completed at the end of the teacher preparation program. Undergraduate teacher candidates are placed with experienced mentor teachers statewide. A limited number may be placed overseas with Department of Defense Dependent Schools (DoDDS) or International Schools through a competitive selection process.
