Cultural Studies and Social Thought in Education
Courtney Benjamin, who is in the College of Education, Sport and Human Science’s cultural studies and social thought in education program, will receive a one‑year fellowship to work with the Community for Advancing Discovery Research in Education (CADRE), which is supported by the National Science Foundation.
The CADRE Fellows program is in its tenth year and provides capacity-building and networking opportunities for researchers who are in the early stages of their STEM education careers.
3MT winner
Ph.D. candidate Jeremiah Sataraka won our Three Minute Thesis (3MT) for 2018. He took second at WSU’s 3MT.
Student Learning Outcomes
Graduates from the program will be able to:
- Locate, analyze, and synthesize research literature, and apply that synthesis to problems of practice
- Effectively communicate scholarly work through written, oral, and/or alternate formats
- Skillfully inquire into areas of program-related interest
- Demonstrate scholarly habits of curiosity, inquiry, skepticism, and data-based decision-making
