Biography
Kelly McGovern is a liaison between the Graduate School and faculty & students. She manages the college’s Office of Graduate Education, Graduate Student Lounge and will walk students through the mountain of paperwork and regulations to for students to get their degrees.
She has been at WSU for over 31 years, of which 11 were spent in the School of Molecular Biosciences, and now over 10 years within our college. She works tirelessly with graduate students, faculty, leadership and the Graduate School on graduate student policies and procedures and is often offering up her students to try and test new software and procedures. She is sought after by many to answer questions because if she does not know the answer, she usually knows who will know the answer or will research it until there is an answer.
She is a graduate of Cornish College of the Arts and during the pandemic took up spinning fiber, mostly wool, to make yarn to support her lifetime knitting habit. She has held two art exhibitions at Bank Left in Palouse, in 2016, the 10th Annual Floriade showing her print art (Intaglio, woodcut & mono-printing) and in 2024, Sock It To You, showing off all her knitted socks and a couple of her hand spun/knitted sweaters.
