Biography
Research Interests
Dr. Michael Dunn’s research focuses on helping children and adults improve their writing skills with strategies (e.g., ideas for planning, organizing ideas, drafting text, and making edits/revisions) and technology tools, including generative artificial intelligence (genAI). Dr. Dunn continues to work with colleagues to develop the SkribaTools writing strategy website hub.
Teaching Experiences
Dr. Michael Dunn has taught children from kindergarten to grade 12 with a focus on writing and reading across subject areas. Teaching areas have included Special Education, second-language education, and curriculum/assessment coordinator. At Washington State University, Dr. Michael Dunn teaches courses at the undergraduate, master’s and doctoral levels.
